Variations sur Blanc

This shared creative process starts with a number of physical practices linked to body states in transformation or trance: breathing, the porosity of presence, work on the different strata of the body and altered states of consciousness, questioning “the perishable body and the utopian body”.

The second stage involves a short creative process to compose a collective performance together with the participants. In-depth work is carried out on emotions and facial expressions, on twirling movement, and on the making of costumes and masks and how to dress and bring them to life.

At the end of the process, Variation sur Blanc was presented in public: a masked and costumed group ritual, a gathering of “totemic” figures, who revealed themselves and unfolded in space, bringing out the singular presence of each participant and the bond of community that was transformed into an organism or landscape.

This project gave rise to the Participatif Carnaval project.
