TRAMES - Project presentation

TRAMES - Memories and Echoes of a collective creation

Session after session, 180 people from all walks of life came together between October ‘23 and June ’24 to weave together - knot after knot - a monumental work imagined by Jordi Galí. François Payrastre (musician and sound designer) and Julien Penichost (photographer and video maker) were privileged witnesses and keen observers of this travelling adventure. Through this ad hoc exhibition, the two partners are highlighting the life stories - sometimes extraordinary, sometimes familiar - of committed weavers, through a double portrait: the views of their hands and the fragments of stories they carry.

In Feyzin, St-Fons, Vénissieux and Corbas, this collective, nomadic creation has gradually taken shape, and with it have come unexpected encounters and unusual experiences. As the project has unfolded in new and yet-to-be-discovered areas, an ephemeral community has come together, bringing together long-standing residents and newcomers, teenagers and senior citizens, students and amateurs, users of cultural spaces and passers-by in a single creative venture.
There are 2 main partners in this project, metropolitan organisations working to promote people's social autonomy: France Horizon and ANEPA Tremplin. With them, Arrangement Provisoire shares the conviction that artistic creation and practice are real levers for emancipation.

8 partner venues hosted the 17 sessions: the EHPAD La Maison Fleurie in Feyzin, L'Épicerie Moderne, le Corner, the Médiathèque and le Fort, le CAP in St-Fons, Le Polaris in Corbas and L'Espace Pandora in Vénissieux.

There were also 16 artists, companions and accomplices who contributed their own practices to the project. Each session was an opportunity for the participants to experience an artistic practice: singing, listening to music, dance, ceramics, poetry, writing, object theatre, etc. Moments of sensitive discovery and personal expression, renewed at each session.

TRAMES is about people and places coming together around a common, unifying objective,
It's a collective gesture, made up of individual and singular contributions, which seeks to restore confidence in oneself and in others, an experience to nourish sensibilities, a lever for emancipation, an impetus.

The work and the exhibition were installed from 4 July to 21 December 2024 at the Fort de Feyzin.
