Faire(s) collectif(s)

A full-scale open-laboratory conducted from 27 to 29 November 2020 at the CDCN le Pacifique Grenoble, it was an opportunity to observe what strategies are put in place by a collective, a group in the making, as they build a common project. Over 3 days, Jordi Galí invited collaborators.rice. s to imagine a zone of participatory experimentation in parallel with an observation strategy for the latter, from the following angles:

– How does a group work and structure itself when faced with a common challenge?

– While trying to preserve his freedom of action and decision: how to channel and organize his energy so that it is possible to insert individual creativity in a collective creativity?

- How to prepare and encourage the creative spirit of the group?

We wanted to give a prominent place to the game in this approach. We consider that play is a powerful tool to foster the ability of observation and the desire for experimentation, both individual and collective: the playful relationship fundamentally transforms our relationship with others and the world. This laboratory is one of the first times of research on the possibility of associating the notion of game with the manufacture of monumental and ephemeral structures for public space through a participatory approach, both in their design and in their construction process.

The conclusions of this laboratory are thus the starting point for a series of research on the game and build it together.
