Based on the artistic approaches of Vânia Vaneau and Jordi Galí, this book explores how the body interacts with the living and the inanimate. Conceived as a dialogue between dance and various disciplines, it reveals the choreographic gesture as a vector of interconnection between the body, matter and the universe.

Corpo Mundo - for body and matter world - is an aesthetic attempt to understand our environment through the exploration of diverse writings and images that are superimposed in successive layers: interviews, correspondence between the two choreographers, analyses, poetry, photographs, drawings and suggestions for artistic practices to be activated by the reader. Texts that are porous to one another, composing a multiple landscape.

The book is made up by the publishing committee of authors and critics Alix de Morant, Charlotte Imbault, Wilson Le Personnic, Marie Pons, Vânia Vaneau and Jordi Galí, as well as guest writers Emma Merabet (performing arts researcher) and Jérémy Damian (antrhopologist and dancer), and the participation of Christophe Desmur (Zen monk), Rémi Cabanac (astronomer and director of the Pic du Midi Observatory), Nicolas Lelièvre (architect and visual artist) and Nermin Salepci (mathematician). A carte blanche was offered to photographer and dancer David Leborgne.

In the image of their creations, this book pays particular attention to the material, with meticulous finishing. It features an original binding, different types of paper, page formats and remarkable graphics.
